Now that we have closed the door on 2017, i thought it would be good to send out a Bucknucks Update. We've been accepting books at both locations since the New Year and as expected, Cobble Hill had a huge influx due to the moratorium in December.  Thankfully we had some room for all the incoming and so we aren't completely overrun, so keep on bringing us the good stuff.  A book store without new interesting inventory would be quite boring.  We put out over 100 books a day so there's always something fresh on the shelves.
 

December is here!  After Months of being surrounded by towers of boxes, it is finally that time of year when our Cobble Hill store puts a hold on incoming books.  As we do every year in December, we put a sign on the door and say no to incoming batches of books.  We focus our energy on getting all of those boxes emptied out and put onto the shelves so there is tonnes of fresh inventory to select.  There's an impending holiday season upon us and we have to get those books out on the shelf.  Thank you for your cooperation during our catch up time.
 

Both Locations are closed on November 11th in honour of Remembrance Day.  

Both Bucknucks Locations are open today (BC Day).  We are open Sunday Hours at our location in Cobble Hill as well as Qualicum Beach.  

I had put a stoppage on incoming books in May because we were completely full.  At that time I had been telling people that we had to clear out the frnt from boxes and then we would accept books again.  It appears we have cleared out the front, so I have removed the signs saying "no books". 
 
That means we are welcoming books into the store again.  Thank you for your patience while we sorted out the logjam.

Happy Monday Everyone.  Today (Monday - Victoria Day), Our Cobble Hill Location is open, but our Qualicum Beach location is closed.  I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather.  It's about time we saw some spring.  

If youhave been to our Cobble Hill location you will have noticed that there are a lot of boxes everywhere.  We've taken in more books in the last four months than we can handle.  It's the first thing everyone says when they come in the store.  Most common is "Do you have enough books", followed closely by "Do you still have to go through ALL THESE BOXES?"  
 

Summer is our busiest time of the year. As a retail store we benefit greatly from the fact that Vancouver Island is so beautiful that it is a tourist destination. We need some help to handle the extra workload. If you like our store and read my website, then you are my kind of person. So much so, in fact, that this is the only method of advertising I am doing. It narrows the playing field somewhat. I've had many people who have approached me who would LOVE to work here, and some offer to do it for free.
